Like the famous person I was named after, I am very interested in learning about all the magic and mysteries of Neopia. I've been reading all the books from the Faerie Bookstore and some of the scrolls from the Lost Desert. I've discovered some pretty fascinating things.

I've mastered some of the old practices but what I'm most proud of is that I can teleport.

I remember the first day I realized I really could travel from place to place in the blink of an eye:

I had spent the afternoon in the ~Guild of Booklovers~Library. Ms. Lisa, the guild librarian, always lets me go to the room of very rare books. I always promise to be very, very careful with all the old books and scrolls. I was excited becauseI'd found a scroll on telepathy. I read every word at least three times and I took lots of notes.

I was so involed with my sudying that I didn't hear Ms. Lisa come into the room. So when she spoke I nearlly jumped out of my skin.

"Merlin! Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scary you."

"That's okay, Ms. Lisa. Guess I was just too wrapped up in my studying to hear you."

"Find something interesting?"

Yes, ma'am."

"That's good but Grammy wants you to come home now. Something about helping get ready for Eyrianne's party."

"Oh, no! I forgot. Thanks, Ms. Lisa. I'll put these books away and head home."

"Go on home, Merlin. I'll put these books away for you. Tell Grammy 'Hi" for me."

"Thanks and I sure will."

I raced from the Guild building to the boat ramp where I needed to take the shuttle from Neopian Central to Mystery Island. My mind was swwirling with all that I'd learned this afternoon. I didn't even realize I was at the boat ramp until I walked off the end of it.

SPLASH !!!!

Coming out of my daze, I was sure glad that my backpack was water proof so all the notes I had made were safe. It was then that I discovered I'd missed the shuttle. The next one wouldn't be for another hour and a half. Grammy needed me home as soon as possible. What was I going to do?

Taking my notes out of my backpack, I sat down on a bench to wait for the next shuttle. The scroll had said that if you had the power within you, you could picture any place in your mind, concentrate very hard, then zap you'd be there. WOW, if I could do that I'd be home to help Grammy in no time.

So I put my notes back into my backpack. Then closed my eyes and pictured our playground garden in my mind. I could see the orb plant arch, the fall furbush hedge and the scrochio gnome. It felt like I could reach out and touch them.

The next thing I knew. SPLASH !!!! I was in the water again. I came up sputtering. It was then that I realizes I was in our swimming pool at our house on Mystery Island. I'D DONE IT!!!! Missed my destination a bit but I had teleported from the boat ramp to our swimming pool. But How'd I miss the playground and ended up in the pool? Maybe it was because both places had a scorchio gnome? I needed to do some more studying and practice.

I closed my eyes again and pictured my bedroom in my minds eye.
