It was a gloomy rainy day and Grammy was feeling sad. Her foster child, Magnum, had just found a great home and she missed him. Her two pets Eyrianne & Merlin were in a ponder as to how to cheer Grammy up.

"What if we take a walk and go by the pound? You know Grammy will find a poor little pet that needs some love." Eyrianne suggested.

"Great idea but it's raining." Merlin piped in.

"That's the beauty of it. She'll never suspect."

So after much coaxing Merlin and Eyrianne convinced Grammy they just had to go to the Guild of Booklovers' Library. The three of them put on their rain gear and headed for the boat ramp to catch the ferry to Neopia Central.

Once on Neopia Central, Merlin made Grammy laugh by jumping in the mud puddles and splashing Eyrianne. Merlin guided them the long way to the Library.

They were having such a fun time Grammy didn't notice where they werre until she saw the 'Neopia Pound' sign. In the window werre little Kyriis, Aishas, Ixis and Grundos. Tears came to Grammy's eyes when she saw how sad they were. Her heart went out to all of them.

Eyrianne put her arm around Grammy's shoulder and said, "Grammy, don't you think it's time to find someone to live in that empty bedroom?"

"Oh, you kids won't mind?"

"No, we think it would be fun to have a new sister or brother." both Merlin and Eyrianne answered.

The three of them walked over to the observation window. All the pets ran over to the window trying their best to catch Grammy's attention. That is all except for one. In the far left corner of the room sat a little purple Grundo, who was crying his heart out.

Eyrianne spotted him first. She nudged Merlin who looked and nodded in agreement.

"Grammy, look over in the corner. I think that little one needs our love." Eyrianne said as she pointed to the Grundo in the corner.

"Oh my yes, Eyrianne, I think you're right. What do you think Merlin?"

"Oh I agree." he said with a wink to Eyrianne.

So Grammy went into the pound while the kids waited outside. She told the pound keeper she wanted to adopt the little purple Grundo who was crying in the corner of the observatioon room.

"Ma'am, are you sure? He's not very bright and doesn't even speak English yet."

"Then I'm positive. He needs to be with my family. We're all readers, we have so much to teach him, and so much love to give him." She replied.

The pound keeper filled out all the paper work and Grammy signed the adoption papers and paid the adoption fee. The pound keeper went into the observation room and picked up the crying purple Grundo.

"Oh sweetheart, it's okay. You don't have to cry anymore. You have a new familly now." Grammy said in a calm soothing voice. "What's his name?" she asked as she reached to hold the little guy.

"His name is Purple_JC. We really don't know much about him. He hasn't been here that long and like I said he doesn't speak english. Although he seems to understand it."

Grammy took JC into her arms and gently hugged hiim. Stroking his head she said, "My name is Grammy. Can you say G-r-a-m-m-y?"

JC's little eyes lit up as he tried. "Graym!"

"That's close. We'll work on it later. You have a new sister and brother to meet." With that Grammy wrapped JC in a towel from her backpack, waved to the pound keepeer and headed out the door.

JC cuddled into Grammy's arms and began to hum. It was quiet at first. Then grew louder the longer Grammy held him.

"Grammy, where's that music coming from?" Eyrianne asked.

"Why I believe it's coming from JC!" Grammy replied.

"I didn't know Grundos could do that. I mean make music like that. It seems to be coming from his horns." Merlin piped in.

"So it soes. The pound keeper said that he doesn't speak english yet. So we'll have to teach him to speak and them to read." Grammy informed the kids. "He does seem to understand everything so it shouldn't be to hard for him to learn english."

Grammy, Eyrianne and Merlin discussed their plans to educate JC as they walked back to their house at 85261 Coconut Road, Mystery Island. JC just cuddled and hummed.

When they reached home Merlin took JC around the house and showed him where everything is. Eyrianne and Grammy prepared a snack for all of them.

The rain had stopped and the sun was peeking through the clouds, so they all met in the playground Click on the tree to visit the playground. to eat their snack. JC's little face was beaming and his eyes were twinkling as he ran to Grammy as fast as his little legs could carry him.

He jumped into Grammy's waiting arms, said, "Love Grammy" and kissed her on the cheek.

With happy tears in her eyes, Grammy gave JC a huge hug and kiss.

That night Grammy's house was in a tizzy.  Although JC loved his room, he just didn't like sleeping alone. He had cried and been up and down all night long. So it was decided to swap the bedrooms around. Eyrianne would move into the guest rooom, JC would move into Eyrianne's old room (which was next to Grammy's bedroom), and JC's old room would become the guest room.
