Spike the Fox Terrier Spike was rescued from an abusive home. At first he was real skiddish. However, he and I bonded. He was very protective of me. If someone new comes into the house, Spike getts between them and me. He'd snap but didn't bite if anyone tried to touch me. He was born in Jan. of 2001and died in April of 2002. Spike and Brina fought like sister and brother. Both vying for my attention. Spike liked to sleep curled up behind my knees. |

Beagle Bailey Boy Bailey was supposed to be a miniture Beagle but turned out to be a standard. He was the most loving dog I've ever known. He was never jealous of Brina. In fact when I put her down in her crib for a nap, Bailey would crawl under the crib and stay there as long as Brina was asleep. If she moved he'd come out from under the crib, sit up on his hind legs and check her out. But he was some how linked to me. If I'd get sick he would go get someone and bring them to me. One morning I was home alone and got sick. Bailey would sit next to me until he heard a car outside. Then he would run and check the kitchen window then come back to me. When my husband drove up Bailey went to the window then the door and caused such a ruckus that my husband came running into the house. Bailey then grabbed his pant leg and pulled him into the bathroom to me. I miss Bailey. He got hit by a truck chasing a female in heat across the highway infront of my house. |

MacPuppy the Rat Terrier I got MacPuppy as a present from my late husband. We got him just after he was weened. Mac had so much energy. He and I bonded the moment he came through the door of my house. If I went to bed first, Mac wouldn't let my husband get in bed until I told him it was alright. But he loved everyone. He and Brina would chase each other around the house and play all the time. However, one day while he was outside doing his thing, he decided to chase a stray across the busy Highway infront of my house, got hit by a car and died. It was only the second time that I know of that he'd ever gone in the road. Mac died a couple months after my husband did last year. |
