The house was quiet. The three kids were each in their rooms. Eyrianne reading, SirGwain playing his CDs and Katie playing with all her plushies. Grammy sat in the family room watching the TV.
Suddenly Katie ran in the room and jumped on Grammys lap.
"Grammy, can I sit on your lap and you tell me a story?" She said as she settled against Grammy.
"Sure Baby. What story do you want tonight?"
"How about the time Eyrianne caught that fake Santa trying to steal our Christmas?"
Folding her arms around Katie, Grammy began, "Well, one night several years ago when you were just a little baby Scorchio, I had to go to a meeting so I left Eyrianne in charge. That year we had set up the Christmas tree in the reading room. We had presents piled high under the tree.
"You and Eyrianne were in the family room watching the video How the Skeith Stole Christmas. SirGwain was in his room, like now, listening to a Sticks N Stones CD. The house was dark except for the entrance way light and the twinkling lights on the Christmas tree.
"The video ended and as usual you wanted Eyrianne to read you a book before you went to bed. So she went to the reading room to get a book."
"Yea, I remember. Eyriannes read nearly all the books we have at least once."
"Thats right. She's working towards a Neopian Book Award. However when she reached the reading room, she heard whispering. Looking through the door, there in the twinkle of the tree light stood a green Skeith wearing a Santa suit."
"Just like in the video!"
"That's right. He had two little red Grundos with him. They were putting all the presents in big bags. Eyrianne backed up and went to my bedroom and called 911. The operator told her to stay back and out of site. But Eyrianne didn't listen. She tipped toed back to the reading room. She watched from the dark as all our presents disappeared into the bags."
"Thats when they made a big mistake. Didn't they Grammy?"
"Yes, Katie, they did. The Skieth started to take the books off the shelves and put them into his bag. Now they didn't know just how mad this would make Eyrianne. Nobody messed with her books. Her temper usually very slow to emerge, flamed like an exploding volcano.
"She flew into the room, grabbing both Grundos in each back claw. Then she hit the Skeith in the face with them. All three were so surprised that they started running in all directions, bumping into each other. The Grundos were trying to get out of the window but the Skieth pushed them down, climbing over them trying to get the window. However the Skieth got stuck in the window. So Eyrianne emptied one of the bags and put the Grundos into it. After tying the bag tightly she went over to were the Skieth was still trying to get out of the window. With two great swoops of her claws, she cut a tic-tac-toe board on his behind.

"The Skeith was screaming HELP ME! As the police pulled up to the house. The Skeith pleaded with the police to arrest him and take him to jail away from the crazy Eyrie. So they took the bag with the Grundos in it and the Skieth off to jail."
"And Eyrianne was a hero.
"Yes, Katie. She was our hero. She saved our Christmas that year. Now I think its time you hopped off to bed."
Giving Grammy a huge hug. Katie ran to Eyriannes bedroom. Rushing in without knocking Katie jumped on the bed where Eyrianne was reading, gave her big sister a hug and kiss saying, " Good night, Eyrianne. I love you soooooo much."
"Thanks, Katie. Good night and sweet dreams."
Katie trotted off to bed as Eyrianne smiled, thinking I wonder what got into her. I better go check my makeup and make sure she hasnt been into it again.
